Valve inletDefinition and main functions of the
inlet valve of industrial air compressorThe
inlet valve is a key component in the air compressor system to control air intake and adjust the load, also known as a load-reducing valve. The basic operating rules are realized through the coordinated work of the valve body, valve disc (rotating disc or reciprocating valve plate), control cylinder and other components. In the screw air compressor, the
inlet valve is installed between the air filter and the compressor host.
Valve inlet main function1. Start-up load reduction
When the air compressor is turned on, it is kept closed to reduce the motor starting current and avoid damage to the equipment due to heavy load starting.
2. Pressure maintenance
When unloading, the bypass valve is used to maintain the minimum system pressure (0.95-1.95bar) to ensure the circulation of lubricating oil.
3. Flow regulation
The valve disc opening is dynamically controlled by the proportional valve to match the gas demand.
4. Anti-backflow protection
The built-in one-way valve structure prevents the compressed air from flowing back during shutdown to protect the machine.
5. Safe discharge
When the air compressor is abnormally high pressure, the pressure is released through the discharge channel to prevent damage to the air compressor system.

Structure of the
air compressor intake valve1. Mechanical actuator
The valve body is made of corrosion-resistant metal, and the valve disc movement mechanism is divided into two types: fast rotating disc and sealed reciprocating valve.
2. Electrical adjustment unit
The solenoid valve receives the control system signal and cooperates with the proportional valve to achieve precise opening adjustment.
Valve inlet workflow1. Startup
The solenoid valve is powered off, the valve disc is closed under the action of the spring, and the basic lubrication pressure is maintained through the bypass hole.
2. Loading
The solenoid valve is powered on, the control cylinder pushes the valve disc to open, and the intake volume increases proportionally with the pressure increase
3. Unloading
When the pressure reaches the peak, the solenoid valve is powered off, and the valve disc is partially closed and released through the discharge pipeline.
