In the laser cutting system, the air compressor is the core supply equipment for auxiliary gas, which is directly related to the cutting quality and equipment stability. The main application principles and technical points of the air compressor laser cutting machine are as follows:

The role of the compressor for laser cutting
1. Slag blowing and cutting quality assurance
During laser cutting, compressed air is ejected from the nozzle at high speed to blow the slag away from the cutting seam in time after the material is melted, ensuring that the incision is smooth and burr-free. Compared with traditional nitrogen for cutting, compressed air is cheaper and easier to obtain, and the purity of compressed air is relatively higher.

2. Optical system protection
The clean compressed air forms an air curtain barrier to prevent the smoke and splashes generated by cutting from contaminating the focusing lens, effectively extending the replacement time of optical components and reducing maintenance costs.

3. Cooling and oxidation control
The air flow can locally cool the heat-affected zone of the material and inhibit excessive oxidation. It is mostly suitable for materials sensitive to oxidation such as stainless steel and aluminum alloy.

Parameter requirements of compressed air system
1. Compressed air purity requirements
Oil and particle removal: Oil and particles will contaminate the lens, resulting in insufficient cutting accuracy. Through freeze dryer and multi-stage filter treatment, it reaches ISO 8573-1 Class 0 100% oil-free standard.

2. Pressure stability
The working pressure needs to be stable at 0.95–1.36MPa, and the floating is allowed to be ≤±0.1MPa, otherwise it will cause cutting slag.

Common fault tips for compressor cutting machine
1. Insufficient air pressure alarm: mostly caused by pipeline leakage and filter blockage.

2. Lens contamination: Oil and water residues are carbonized at high temperature and attached to the lens. It is recommended to replace the filter element every 3 months and monitor the gas dew point.

The compressor greatly reduces production costs and ensures cutting quality by providing pure and stable compressed air in laser cutting. Future development trends will focus on the deep integration of intelligent gas supply systems and laser equipment to improve energy efficiency and automation.
