Applications of Air Compressor

Air compressor
An air compressor is a device that converts the mechanical energy of the prime mover into gas pressure energy. It is mainly used to compress gas. As the core equipment of the gas source system, it is widely used in industrial production.

Different types of air compressors
1. Piston air compressor
Also known as a reciprocating air compressor, it compresses gas through the reciprocating motion of the piston. It has a simple structure but large vibration. It is often used for tire inflation and home workshops.

2. Screw air compressor
It is divided into oil-discharging type and oil-free type. The twin screws are meshed and compressed. It runs smoothly and has low noise. It is generally used for heavy industrial production and manufacturing.

3. Scroll compressor
There are two spiral scroll elements coupled to each other. One of the elements is fixed, and the other rotates inside and is driven by a motor. The structure is compact and the noise is low. It is suitable for use in electronic processing, laboratories and other scenarios.

4. Vane type
The rotor vane slides and compresses. The cost is moderate but the wear is fast. It is mostly used in the textile and printing industries.

Application of air compressors
1. Industrial manufacturing:
It is mainly used to provide high-pressure gas to drive mechanical equipment, such as pneumatic motors, pneumatic valves, etc. It can also be used to operate pneumatic valves in hydraulic systems.

2. Compressed air storage:
Air compressors can store compressed air for subsequent use. Mainly used in intermittent supply of high-pressure air, such as air tanks in pneumatic systems.

3. Tire inflation
Air compressors can quickly inflate the air pressure of cars/motorcycles to the required pressure.

4. Spray painting
Spray guns driven by air compressors are generally used for car and furniture beauty spraying.

5. Medical industry:
Generally used to provide pure compressed air for surgical needs, mostly used for equipment such as ventilators

6. Food industry:
In food processing, air compressors are used to provide clean compressed air to operate pneumatic conveying systems, control valves and drive pneumatic equipment.

7. Metal processing ‌
Sandblasting machines are used to clean and strengthen metal surfaces to improve material properties

8. Mining industry
Mainly provides power source for rock drilling, mountain opening, and transportation equipment
