Compressor Rotor

Compressor rotor is the core component of the air compressor. There are three main types of compressor rotor on the market, screw air compressor, scroll air compressor, and centrifugal air compressor.

Screw compressor rotor
The screw rotor adopts a mutually meshing yin and yang rotor design. The yang rotor is driven by a motor, and the yin rotor is driven by an oil film or synchronous gear. The volume change between the teeth realizes gas compression.

Centrifugal compressor rotor
The centrifugal rotor consists of a main shaft, an impeller, a balance disk, etc. The high-speed rotation of the impeller generates centrifugal force to compress the gas, and the closed impeller efficiency can reach the highest.

Scroll compressor rotor
Compression is achieved through the eccentric movement of a special scroll disk, and the gap accuracy needs to be controlled at the micron level.

Parameters of compressor rotors
1. Gear ratio
The common configuration of yin and yang rotors is 4:6 or 5:6, which affects the exhaust volume and operating stability.

2. Aspect ratio
Determines the strength of the rotor and needs to be designed in coordination with the diameter

3. Gap control
The top speed of the oil-injected screw is 10-50m/s, and the oil-free type reaches 50-100m/s; the exhaust end face clearance is mostly accurate to 0.01-0.1mm

High-precision CNC machining ensures that the rotor surface roughness reaches the sub-micron level, and the proportion of cast iron/stainless steel materials is >65%. The bearing system uses special grease bearings that can withstand axial forces of up to 20kN.
