Introduction to Industrial Air Compressor Oil Separator

Oil separator is an important component of industrial air compressors, generally installed between the compressor exhaust end and the condenser, used to separate the lubricating oil mixed in the compressed air, ensure the output of clean compressed air, and achieve the recycling of lubricating oil.

Working process of oil separator
1. Primary centrifugal separation: The high-temperature oil and gas mixture enters the oil and gas tank, and the centrifugal force causes the oil droplets to collide with the tank wall and settle.

2. Second level inertial collision: The airflow passes through the spiral guide vane, the oil droplets detach from the airflow due to inertia.

3. Three stage coagulation filtration: Fine oil mist is intercepted by the filter element and aggregated into liquid droplets, which drip to the bottom of the bucket.

4. Four stage oil return cycle: After the oil accumulation at the bottom of the bucket reaches the threshold, the float valve opens and the lubricating oil returns to the air compressor.


Oil separator function

1. Purification of compressed air
By physical separation such as centrifugation, filtration, etc., suspended oil droplets in the air can be removed, and the oil content can be reduced to ≤ 2.8ppm, meeting the high-purity requirements of precision equipment for compressed air.

2. Recycling lubricating oil for reuse
The separated lubricating oil is returned to the compressor for reuse through the return system float valve, secondary return oil pipe, etc., reducing the consumption of lubricating oil and achieving an efficient oil recovery rate of up to 92%. Reduce the environmental burden of waste oil treatment and lower maintenance costs.

3. Extend the service life of the air compressor
Ensure that bearings and other moving parts receive sufficient lubrication continuously, reduce friction, prevent lubricating oil from entering the condenser and forming an oil film, and avoid a decrease in heat transfer efficiency leading to an increase in energy consumption.

4.Stabilize the system pressure，avoid pressure fluctuations affecting the operation of the air compressor.
