Direct drive air compressor definition
Screw air compressor motors are usually of two types: belt drive and direct drive. Direct drive motors, as the name implies, are motors directly connected to the compressor crankshaft. The direct connection between the crankshaft and the compressor allows the pump to rotate at the same speed as the motor.

Next, I will introduce the working principle, characteristics, and application scenarios of direct drive air compressors in detail.

Direct drive air compressor working principle
The working principle of direct drive air compressors is based on the reciprocating motion of the piston in the cylinder to achieve gas compression. The core structure includes the cylinder, piston, crankshaft connecting rod, and the intake and exhaust valve system

Direct drive air compressor core working principle
The piston reciprocates in the cylinder to achieve gas compression by changing the cylinder volume. When the piston moves downward, the intake valve opens to inhale normal pressure air; when it moves upward, the cylinder volume decreases, and the air is compressed to a high pressure state and then discharged through the exhaust valve.

Features of direct drive air compressor
1. Energy saving and high efficiency
The efficiency of the brushless motor drive system can reach more than 91%, which is about 38% higher than that of traditional AC motors.

2. Small size
It is about 43% smaller than traditional reciprocating compressors and is suitable for use in small spaces

3. Wide adaptability
Supports multiple power supply methods such as batteries and solar energy, which can meet the needs of vehicle-mounted, outdoor and other environments

Application of direct drive air compressor
1. Photovoltaic direct drive heat pump system, which directly drives the compressor to operate through the direct current generated by photovoltaic panels, without the need for an inverter process, to achieve efficient energy utilization.

2. In the field of wind power generation, the air compressor is directly driven by a vertical axis wind turbine to generate high-pressure air, which is then converted into a stable high-pressure airflow through a storage device to drive the turbine to generate electricity, achieving stable power generation around the clock
