Air compressor repair

Air compressors have been integrated into all aspects of factory production. It can be said that every production link is inseparable from the application of industrial air compressors. Today I will introduce some small tips for common air compressor failures and the points that need to be paid attention to in daily air compressor maintenance.


1. Air compressor mechanical system maintenance

Core component inspection
The spindle inspection uses an outside diameter micrometer to measure the roundness of the shaft neck. If the deviation exceeds 0.1mm, it needs to be turned and repaired.

The radial clearance between the impeller and the suction chamber should be controlled at 0.28-0.46mm, and the axial clearance exceeds the standard and the bearing clearance needs to be adjusted.

Sealing system maintenance
The seal assembly needs to be replaced if the leakage exceeds 3 drops per minute at the shaft seal, and the O-ring should be frozen before installation to improve the sealing performance.


2. Air compressor fault diagnosis process

When the pressure is abnormal
When the air pressure is insufficient, first check the deformation of the air valve plate and the light transmittance of the air inlet filter <61%, then it needs to be replaced.

Pressure fluctuations need to be detected in sections: if the pressure is normal after disconnecting the accessories, it means that there is a gas leak in the main engine

Temperature alarm
When the oil temperature exceeds 70.5℃, the oil level and the cooler heat sink should be checked.

If the secondary exhaust temperature exceeds 160℃, the machine should be shut down immediately and the temperature control valve and lubricating oil quality should be checked.

3. Air compressor electrical system maintenance

Control circuit inspection
The motor needs to be tested for difficulty in starting: the three-phase winding resistance deviation is ≤5%, and the contactor contact oxidation needs to be sanded.

The PLC controller ER01 code indicates that the pressure sensor is abnormal.

4. Daily management and maintenance of air compressor

Periodic maintenance plan
Daily: Check oil level and leakage
Monthly: Adjust belt tension

Condition monitoring technology
Oil analysis: If the acid value is greater than 1.454mgKOH/g, it needs to be replaced
