tips for daily maintenance of air compressors.
Preventive maintenance ensures that the air compressor is in optimal working condition for a long time and prolongs the service life of the air compressor. Planned preventive maintenance may have a slight impact on production, but it is not worth mentioning compared to the shutdown caused by failure.

Check the air filter every 2 to 3 months and replace it every six months. The air filter effectively removes pollutants entering the compressor intake, regardless of the air source. A dirty filter will increase the pressure drop, resulting in a decrease in the efficiency of the air compressor system. According to statistics, a 2 PSIG pressure drop caused by filter blockage will increase energy consumption by an average of 1.5%.
2. Leakage check
Unplug the compressor from the air compressor system, pressurize the equipment, and apply soapy water to the accessories. If bubbles appear, it means there is a leak.
Damaged gasket: Gasket failure often causes air leaks - if you find damage, please replace it with a new gasket in time.
3. Pressure valve inspection
If the air compressor continues to run after the pressure is cut off, it is most likely due to a faulty pressure relief valve or power switch. Check the pressure valve for signs of damage and replace the valve if necessary to prevent further damage.
4. Compressor oil level inspection
Before starting the compressor, check the oil level. Replace the oil filter every 2 to 3 months of operation to remove metal chips and other substances in the oil.
In operating environments such as high temperature or dust in the intake air, shorten the interval between oil changes and sampling. If food-grade lubricants are used, it is recommended to sample and analyze the lubricant once a month and take action based on the test results in the report.
5. Use manufacturer-specified oils and lubricants
Rotary compressor oil is critical to the operation of air compressors, and every manufacturer attaches great importance to recommending the right oil for the compressor. If you purchase a screw compressor from Airfler, we will provide our own oil when the machine is shipped to ensure long-term stable operation of the machine. You can also purchase oil and lubricants separately from Airfler later.
